Post-Doctoral Research Associate

Urszula is a Postdoctoral Research Associate on RadNet WP1, focusing on radiotherapy-induced toxicity of normal tissues. She is investigating the role the immune system plays in driving acute and chronic effects following image-guided radiotherapy in an animal model, focusing on the intestine and lung, and their immunological cross-talk.

Urszula obtained her PhD in Cellular Physiology from The University of Cambridge, where she studied the effects of extracellular calcium concentration on the phospholipid bilayer and apoptosis of red blood cells in homeostasis and sickle cell disease. Her first PDRA was at Newcastle University, working on the immunology of human dendritic cells with a focus on the genetic and cellular basis of haematopoiesis in the context of rare primary immunodeficiencies. Urszula joined RADNET WP1 in 2020.
